I’m so honored to be awarded the People’s Choice Award for “Spring Attire” at the Seacoast Artists Association’s theme show ‘Peace and Quiet”!
Spring Greetings!
For me winter seems to fly by so quickly, it’s the time of year I’m able to focus completely on painting and experimenting with different mediums and styles. The solitude allows me to be totally absorbed in what I’m exploring and before I know - it’s spring! Where did time go??
I thought I’d post a glimpse of a few pieces I’ve been exploring these last few months and news of my upcoming plans for the first opening of 2022 with a themed showing “Explorations - Works on Paper“ (date TBA)
Works in progress
An anticipated morning reveal of final prep work for a few ink wash paintings on paper.
After dampening, ironing and pressing under a stack of books overnight to dry and flatten any cockles/buckling, they’re ready for the next process of choosing frames and matting. I’m leaning toward a collage display of individual, assorted sizes of black, antiqued silver/bronze/gold frames with oversized, offset matting.
Stay tuned!! for more info on ”Explorations - Works on Paper” exhibit at my Art Gallery for a first time showing of my latest works including mono prints, ink wash paintings and lithographs.
Have a wonderful spring everyone! And, on another note, I’d like to thank you all for making our first year opening of our gallery last year such a success. I’m so grateful to you all for supporting me and my art, I couldn’t do what I do without you, THANK YOU!
"Endurance" accepted to Newburyport Art Association's 'Refuge' exhibit
Always exciting to receive!!!
I’m very honored and proud to have “Endurance” accepted to Newburyport Art Association’s “Refuge” Exhibit. A collaborative visual arts and environmental project created in partnership with the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge and the Audubon/Joppa Flats Education Center, “Refuge” is an exhibit of artwork created during COVID-19 pandemic, reflecting each artist’s personal relationship to nature, interpreting the fragility of the natural world around us, and exploring the complex relationships and responsibilities between people and place. The exhibit will be on view at Newburyport Art Association, Newburyport, MA from October 1 to October 20, 2021.

Progression of Painting - "Endurance"
This is the progression and completion of “Endurance”, 28” x 22”, an oil painting I started a few months ago just when news that covid vaccines were finally being distributed, and hope was truly at the horizon - AKA the rainbow, a symbol of hope and optimism, after a year of very chaotic, troubled waters. My intention when I began was simply a waterscape when something ame over me to add the rainbow (not knowing what prompted me, and not initially intended). I just went with my emotions and flow at the moment…for all we’ve endured!!!!
